Mini-Meatball
Parmesan Sandwich
Great Sandwich
These delicious
Mini-Meatball Parmesan Sandwichs are great for games and parties. Served on sweet Hawaiian rolls, these sandwiches will melt in your mouth.
The
Mini-Meatballs are top with rich gravy and melted mozzarella cheese. This recipe should make around twenty sandwiches
You can use jar gravy for this recipe but I prefer homemade.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan
1/4 cup Italian flat-leaf parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 canola oil, for frying
1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce (or 3 cups of your favorite homemade sauce)
Hawaiian sweet rolls
20 slices fresh mozzarella
PREPARATION
Mix together by hand the beef, pork, breadcrumbs, eggs, cheese, parsley, salt and pepper.
Roll the meat mixture into small balls around an inch and a half.
Fry the meatballs in the oil until browned on all sides
Heat up the gravy and bring to a simmer.
Add the fried meatballs and simmer for around 30 minutes.
Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and toast in a 300 degree oven for 2 to 3 minutes.
Place the meatballs on the bottom half.
Top with a slice of mozzarella cheese.
Broil until cheese has melted.
Top with other bun and serve with the extra gravy.
You can secure the meatballs with little skewers if you prefer.
