Mom and Dad would always come home to six children wanting their dinner. And by the time they would get home it was 6:30PM or a little latter. By the end of the week they were pretty tired.
I can remember one evening Mom was late and Dad had started melting the butter in the pan with garlic, He was going to make New England Clam Chowder.Well he had added the milk and a few minutes later Mom came in and said" Bill What Are You Doing?" He replied Clam Chowder.and she said it will take to long, and then she said I"ll do Fettuccine in a flash.
INGREDIENTS & PREPARATION
In a large dutch oven or large skillet on med heat melt 1 stick of butter add 1 crushed garlic clove saute for 1 minute.
Add 3 cups of milk 1 cup of heavy cream heat until steaming.
Add 1 pound of fettuccine stirring constantly so pasta wont stick together.
Bring to a slow boil.
Keep at a slow boil for 10 minutes stirring often.
Add 1 cup of Ramono cheese and 1 cup of Parmesan cheese.
Cook until pasta is tender and not to chewy. You can add more milk if it starts to get to dry. You want a loose sauce.
Salt and pepper to taste.
You may change the taste by adding sea food or chicken or omit 1 cup of milk and add 1 cup of chicken stock.
If you plan on using shell fish I suggest adding a little sherry about 1 tsb.
