Recipes from Veneto

Welcome to the 24th issue of "Shut Up and Mangia!". This issue will focus on the region of Veneto and Venetian cuisine.

How can you begin to describe the beauty of Veneto? A place rich with history, art and architecture. Veneto is located in the Northeastern part of Italy and besides it’s dazzling capital of Venice, Venito is also comprised of the provinces Verona, Padua, Rovigo and Treviso.

Like other parts of Italy this region has it’s own distinct cuisine. Each province bringing it own special recipes to the table. The people of this region prefer rice to pasta and have created many of the classic dishes that we know today.

Also, Veneto brings to us some of the best wines in the world. Wines such as Soave, Bardolino, Prosecco and Valpolicella are just a few wines that come from this region that we have enjoyed. And what would your favorite dish be like without the excellent flavor that Asiago, Grana Padano or Piave cheeses provides?

The cuisine of Veneto invites you experience the very best of Italy. Here I will feature five of my favorite Venetian recipes for you to try at home. Also, a couple of great books on Venetian cooking and a few great travel sites about Veneto just in case your planning a vacation.

Site News

I’m very excited that my new book will be ready within the next two week. There was a title change. The new title of the book is “Mia Cucina Pazzo” which translates to “My Crazy Kitchen”. I felt that this title best describes my family kitchen.

The book will contain around one hundred and forty recipes featuring fifty recipes never before seen on my site or newsletter. It should keep everybody cooking for a long time. A special newsletter will be released when everything is set up and ready.

Also,"Mangia Italiano Summer 2009 Italian Recipe Contest". is going just great. Just remember the contest ends on September 30th so get your favorite recipes together and send them in to win.

Great Chicago Italian Recipes is dedicated to adding new and traditional Italian recipes for your enjoyment. The site is getting bigger and better with the addition of “The Italian Grocer“ and the“The Great Italian Music Store“. Thank You for supporting this site.

Great Venetian Cookbooks

Great Veneto Travel Sites

The first site Italy-Islands,com will give you an in depth look at the region and show you why Veneto is one of the hottest destination spots in Italy. The other site, which is one of my favorites about anything Italian is In Italy, com " target="blank">Italy-Islands. This site will give you an insight to resorts, festivals, the arts, architecture and much more.
